The National's frontman, Matt Berninger, has announced his second solo album, Get Sunk, set for release on May 30. Alongside the announcement, he has shared the album's first single 'Bonnet Of Pins'.
Produced and co-written with Grammy Award-winning producer Sean O’Brien, the album features contributions from Meg Duffy (Hand Habits), Julia Laws (Ronboy), Kyle Resnick (The National, Beirut), Booker T. Jones, and members of The Walkmen, among others.
Following his critically acclaimed 2020 solo debut, Serpentine Prison, Get Sunk showcases Berninger’s evolving artistry and his ability to explore the complexities of the human experience. The new LP draws inspiration from the flora and fauna of his Connecticut home, where he relocated after years of living in Los Angeles.
Berninger’s North American and UK/EU tour includes a Dublin show at Vicar Street on August 23, with his Get Sunk collaborators joining him on stage. Ronboy (Julia Laws) will open all dates.
Tickets are priced at €49.20 and go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
