The Last Dinner Party have announced details of their debut album Prelude To Ecstasy, out 2 February 2024 via Island Records.
The project was produced by James Ford in London, and will feature some of the band’s breakthrough singles, including ‘Nothing Matters’, ‘Sinner’, and ‘My Lady of Mercy’ .
Coinciding with the albums announcement is a new track and accompanying visualiser ‘On Your Side’. Watch the video below.
“Ecstasy is a pendulum which swings between the extremes of human emotion, from the ecstasy of passion to the sublimity of pain, and it is this concept which binds our album together,” said the band on the album.
“This is an archaeology of ourselves; you can exhume our collective and individual experiences and influences from within its fabric. We exorcised guitars for their solos, laid bare confessions directly from diary pages, and summoned an orchestra to bring our vision to life.”
The Last Dinner Party have taken the world by storm this year, known for their unique live shows – for which the band often set themed dress codes with many fans relishing the task.
They’ve played an impressive string of festival shows this year, including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Latitude. Elsewhere, they’ve supported some of the world’s biggest acts, such as Lana del Rey, Florence and the Machine and Hozier, who they will be joining for his upcoming European tour, featuring three dates at the 3 Arena in Dublin.
Prelude To Ecstasy is both the closing of that introductory chapter and the opening of the next.
The album is available for pre-order now. For more information on upcoming The Last Dinner Party shows, including dates and tickets, click here.
