The Frames sell out Sydney date
Glen Hansard and co pack out the first date of their Australian tour: "The house was jumping"
The Frames' first Australian visit got off to a triumphant start with their Sydney Metro show a complete sell-out.
This was due in part to them being championed by the city's leading alternative radio station, Triple J, who've playlisted two tracks from For The Birds.
By way of a "thank you", Glen and the boys dropped by the studios and treated the Triple J listeners to acoustic versions of 'Lay Me Down' and Kraftwerk's 'The Model'.
As for the gig, our woman-in-the-front-row Mary Kinsella reports: "The house was jumping. The highlight of the night was when they played 'Revelate' and 'Star Star' back-to-back. During 'Revelate' Glen faded his voice away and you could see he was thrilled that the crowd sang on without missing a beat."
