The E.N.D.
Pop-Funksters rehash hit formula which lacks any trace of soul
There’s a groundhog day feel to this album as one track blurs into the next. ‘Gotta Feeling’ sounds like a Eurovision loser and ‘Party All The Time’ explains how much easier life would be if we could, indeed, party all the time. That said, ‘Alive’ is a little more melodious and gives Fergie a chance to flaunt her lovely lady lumps.
Speaking of surgical enhancement, The E.N.D. sounds as if it’s gone under the knife one time too many – the production is incredibly tinny. That said, the resultant emptiness is actually quite fitting: this is an album that lacks any kind of soul, aside maybe from ‘Out Of My Head’, which could be Timbaland remixing Chic, and the Chromeo-meets-Cameo ‘Rocking To The Beat’.
Key track: ‘Out Of My Head’
