The Celtic Social Club are set to perform in Dublin
"Whelan’s feels like a sort of homecoming — not just for me, but for the band as a whole," said Taylor Byrne.
The Celtic Social Club are scheduled to perform in the Whelan’s main room on Tuesday, February 4 at 7pm.
The Celtic Social Club are a Franco-Irish band, that first started in 2014 at the Vieilles Charrues music festival in Brittany, France. The group are known for their blend of rock, folk, and punk with Celtic music that draws across various nations and regions in France, Ireland, Scotland and Spain.
The band have released five studio albums. The upcoming Dublin performance is their second appearance in the city and their first since the release of their latest album, You Should Know. The album was produced by Nick David who has previously worked with The Pogues, Genesis, and Björk.
“Being the only Irish member of the band, bringing our new record home feels deeply personal,” said Taylor Byrne. “Ireland has always quietly influenced our music, and You Should Know captures honestly who we are. Performing it live in Whelan’s feels like a sort of homecoming — not just for me, but for the band as a whole.”
