The blues comes calling
Mary Stokes hits the rhythm and roots trail
The Mary Stokes Band up the ante somewhat over the next month with a series of gigs, which culminate with a short tour of Belgium, later in May.
On the run-in to the Kilkenny Rhythm and Roots Festival, where they are among the key Irish draws, the rhythm ’n’ blues maestros warm up with an appearance at the Old Mill in Naas on Friday April 25, as well as their long-running and hugely successful Sunday night residency in Bruxelles (April 27).
The Rhythm’n’Roots shindig takes place the following weekend, from Friday May 2 to Sunday 4, and the band are back in Dublin for a brace of gigs at the Gaeity and Bruxelles respectively on Saturday May 10 and Sunday 11 respectively.
Belgian dates have been slotted in from May 17 to 20, with further foreign jaunts being pencilled in for the summer period.
