"The best singer in the business"
You can see whether you agree with Frank Sinatra's assessment when lounge-music legend Tony Bennett swans into Vicar St
The lounge lizard that other lounge lizards call The Guv'nor, Tony Bennett, has confirmed a July 1 show at Vicar St.
Rated by Frank Sinatra as "the best singer in the business", the 77-year-old won a whole new audience for himself when he guested at the 1993 MTV Video Awards with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
"Tony Bennett has not just bridged the generation gap, he has demolished it," opined the New York Times. A smash hit MTV Unplugged performance later, and we were treated to the sight of a Persil-white Mr. Bennett wowing Glastonbury.
