The Academic to play Cork Opera House
The Mullingar group will play the venue as part of the Cork Jazz Festival
The Academic have announced a gig at the Cork Opera House on 26 October in what will be their biggest headline gig so far in Cork.
2018 has been a huge year for the band. In January, they released their debut album Tales From The Backseat which went to number 1 in Ireland. Last week they supported The Rolling Stones in Croke Park and now they are looking ahead to a busy summer, with a headline gig in Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens being a highlight.
The band will now be apart of the Cork Jazz Festival which runs from 25-29 October.
“Cork has been like a real home from home since we started the band and we have had some amazing shows there,” said Craig Fitzgerald, the lead singer of the group. “The fans down there are incredible. We are really looking forward to the show at the Opera House, it is going to be a really special show.”
Tickets cost €25 and go on sale Monday at 9am.
