In its first year, Mayo’s Far West Fest contains an exciting line up. The festival is a non-for-profit community project that through sheer perseverance and vision, has been made possible.

Taking place over the weekend of August 18th and 19th, the beautiful village of Geesala, located 10 minutes from Belmullet, will play host to the Mayo festival. Dubbed "Ireland's newest festival, Mayo's Biggest Party", Far West Fest looks set to bring some of Ireland's best music acts to one of the most picturesque parts of the country. With Achill Island (the filming location for Banshees of Inisherin) as the scenic backdrop to the main stage, festival goers will be brought the best of Irish music in a Hollywood akin setting.

Those who have so far been confirmed to make an appearance over the course of the two-day event include Lyra, The Academic, Gavin James, Basement Jaxx, Jenny Greene and Wild Youth, with more to be announced.

All proceeds from the festival will go back into the community, with the festival’s founder citing their desire to put the beautiful town of Geesala on the map, and to demonstrate what can be achieved when a community comes together.
