SZA to join Kendrick Lamar at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show
The halftime show will be in New Orleans' Caesars Superdome on February 9, 2025.
Kendrick Lamar has revealed that SZA will join him as a special guest for his performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX halftime show, which is just over two weeks away. The event will take place on Sunday, February 9, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
The guest appearance was expected as the two have collaborated extensively. SZA featured on two songs on Lamar's surprise-released album GNX, 'Luther' and 'Gloria', while he worked on the track 'Lana' on her album 30 for 30.
The performance will mark Lamar’s second appearance at the halftime show, after joining Dr. Dre's in 2022 alongside Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
Lamar follows after Usher's performance at last year's Super Bowl, where he was accompanied by Alicia Keys as well as H.E.R., Lil Jon, Ludacris, Will.i.am and Jermaine Dupri.
The news that SZA will join him for the halftime show was accompanied by a fun teaser trailer, where SZA catches Lamar off guard by pouring a blue sports drink over him while he reflects on his preparations, saying, "I've been thinking about a guest performer."
