Chris Brown announces new album
Brown is due out May 8.
Chris Brown has announced his new album Brown, set for release on May 8 via Chris Brown Entertainment/RCA Records.
He also shared a new single 'Obvious,' following 2025's 'It Depends' featuring Bryson Tiller. Alongside the album announcement, Brown and Usher jointly posted an announcement of their North American The R&B Tour on Instagram.
The two-time Grammy winning R&B artist has released a total of eleven studio albums throughout his career, including the latest, 11:11 (Deluxe) from 2023. His 2025 Breezy Bowl XX tour, which came to Dublin's Marlay Park last June, became the highest-grossing tour ever by a solo Black American male artist, earning nearly $300 million (€256 million).
Elsewhere, Brown has faced multiple legal issues throughout his career. He pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, resulting in a sentence of five years probation.
In May 2025, Brown was arrested in Manchester, England before starting the UK leg Breezy Bowl XX tour. He was accused of an alleged attack with grievous bodily harm, said to have taken place in a London nightclub in 2023. Pleaded not guilty, the singer kicked off the tour as planned. The suit was ultimately dismissed with prejudice, with Brown still facing criminal charges in the case.
Brown, out in May, can be pre-saved here.
