Meanwhile, the American is making her Close Up Vol 1: Love Songs album available through suzannevega.com.
“These are songs that I’ve written over the years and now re-recorded,” Vega explains. “These are the songs I consider love songs, although they’re also songs of attraction, flirtation and confrontation.”
Included are gorgeous new versions of ‘Small Blue Thing’, ‘Gypsy’, ‘Caramel’ and her 1985 breakthrough song, ‘Marlene On The Wall’.
Vega is planning four volumes of Close-Up, which will also at some point get a more widespread release.
