Subject To Change
Vanessa Mae is one of the finest violin players in the world, unfortunately Subject To Change is a hotch-potch of styles thrown together with no thought given to cohesiveness
Vanessa Mae is one of the finest violin players in the world: that is beyond question. The problem, however, is that this wouldn’t be immediately clear from listening to Subject To Change, a hotch-potch of styles thrown together with no thought given to cohesiveness.
Subject To Change doesn’t so much fall as collapse between a myriad of stools and styles and Mae begs, borrows and steals from almost every genre you can think of bar country ‘n’ Irish. I do feel Vanessa Mae is bound for superstardom if she could let her hair down a little and concentrate on making the album that she wants to hear instead of the album she thinks we want to hear. Come on Vanessa – once more with feeling.
