The Japanese punk pop band are celebrating 30 years together.
Punk pop legends Shonen Knife have confirmed they will play Whelan's on Friday August 19. They've been lauded by John Peel, Nirvana and Sonic Youth. On his first time seeing them live, Kurt Cobain commented, "I was transformed into a hysterical nine-year-old girl at a Beatles concert."
The "ultra-eccentric-super-cult-punk-pop-band" were also the subject of tribute album Every Band Has A Shonen Knife Who Loves Them which was released in1989 and features Sonic Youth, L7, Red Cross, and Babes In Toyland, among others.
