Shiny unhappy people
Metallica precede massive August all-dayer in the RDS (elsewhere on bill: Linkin Park, Mudvayne, The Deftones) with the June release of eighth LP St. Anger
As exclusively revealed last month by Hot Press, Metallica are bringing their Summer Sanitarium Tour to Dublin's RDS on August 21.
Ahead of that comes the June 10 release of St. Anger, their first studio album since 1997's Re: Load, and the eighth in a career that has seen them become the biggest hard rock band on the planet.
The trek kicks off in the States on July 4 with Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Mudvayne and The Deftones supporting. While Fred Durst & Co. are believed to have other commitments, the word on the metal grapevine is that the other three will be joining Metallica for the Dublin all-dayer.
Having opened their account with the eight million-selling Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park unleash the eagerly-awaited follow-up, Meteora, on March 25. If the lead single, 'Somewhere I Belong', is anything to go by, it should be a cracker!
