Sean O'Rourke leads Pat Kenny in JNLR ratings
Both RTE One and Newstalk have made gains in that timeslot.
The latest batch of JNLR figures (for January – December 2013) has been released this afternoon and will make pleasing reading for most the big radio players.
Pat Kenny had talked in the run-up about how he was "not worried" about ratings and it seems he has little reason to be. Having famously moved from the national broadcaster to take over the 10am – 1230pm slot on Newstalk last September, he's been responsible for bringing on board more than 20,000 listeners.
Back at RTE One, his replacement Sean O'Rourke has been doing his job well with an audience of 327,000 – he's up 6,000 compared to Kenny's figures from last January. It leaves RTE One in comfortable pole position, with Kenny pulling in 96,000 sets of ears.
Elsewhere, there's little change for their mid-morning competition. Today FM's Ray D'Arcy has had a minor drop of 1,000, whilst Tubridy's audience remains unmoved at 152,000.
Ian Dempsey is still the king of the breakfast hosts, gaining 9,000 year on year. With Hector, who actually gained 12,000 listeners year on year, gone from 2fm since December, the newly-announced morning team of Jennifer Maguire, Bernard O'Shea and Keith Walsh have a big job on their hands overhauling Dempsey.
