The Dublin post-funk quartet will release their debut album on September 19.
Dublin post-funk quartet Scustin have released their new single ‘I’m Never Flying With Ryanair Again’, a tune blending infectious pop-groove structures with a grunge-country guitar.
The track comes ahead of their debut album Confessions Of A Pub Talker, set for release on September 19.
Recorded and produced by Richie Kennedy (The Murder Capital, RIDE, Interpol, Shame) at Black Mountain Studios, forthcoming debut album is a concept record that tells the story of Larry, a barman in his mid-to-late 20s struggling to find his way amidst the social and economic uncertainties of modern Irish life.
It follows their recent appearance at Dublin’s annual Trinity Ball alongside Confidence Man, and the recent announcement of their support slot with Dublin stars Inhaler in St Anne’s Park, alongside Gurriers and Blossoms later this month.

Commenting on the track, the band say: “Lyrically, the song is a satirical deep-dive into the absurdity of blame culture. Channelling the tongue-in-cheek swagger of The Streets, Viagra Boys, and Kneecap, the story introduces a maddeningly self-unaware character who wreaks havoc through his airport routine.
“It’s a wry observation of a world where it's easier to deflect responsibility than take it on the chin.”
This summer, Scustin are set to appear at SXSW London, A Stones Throw, Beyond The Pale, and Wilderness Festival, with extensive album tour dates still to be announced later this year.
