Samantha Mumba has confirmed an August 22 live show in The Dragon Bar, Dublin followed by a meet ‘n’ greet. A previous appearance at the South Great Georges Street venue’s F.A.G. night in March marked the Irish singer’s return to musical duty after a prolonged break.
“Buzz O'Neill and myself brought her over from LA for F.A.G. and sold-out its 800 capacity with hundreds turned away outside,” says promoter Cormac Cashman. “The real story of the night though was the reaction of the crowd to Sam's amazing performance. They sang every single word to every song, and Samantha was genuinely blown away by it.”
Expect the demand to be even more phenomenal this time round thanks to Mumba’s involvement in RTÉ’s The Hit on which she’s partnered up with Johnny Logan.
There’s also been talk of Louis Walsh’s former charge landing the lead in a major Hollywood musical.
