Earl Sweatshirt surprise releases Live Laugh Love
Listen to the new album below.
Rapper Earl Sweatshirt has surprise released his new album Live Laugh Love, and shared his music video for 'Tourmaline'.
The album, teased throughout the past week, takes on a more personal narrative than his usual work.
“I named it before I wrote it,” said Earl Sweatshirt. “And then everything started clicking.”
The title started as a ironic critique of the phrase but eventually turned in to an album about the small joys in life, detailing his everyday experiences as a father and an artist.
Live Laugh Love is "an album steeped in allegory but rooted in an artist’s everyday life," according to a statement.
The rapper, known for his use of abstract and experimental hip-hop and philosophical perspective on rap, got his start at the age of 16.
Last year marked the tenth anniversary of his debut album Doris.
He has since released I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside (2015), Some Rap Songs (2018), Sick! (2022) and in 2023 he collaborated with The Alchemist on Voir Dire.
In 2013 the artist won the BET Hip Hop Award for Rookie of the Year.
