RTÉ Breakthrough: Judges revealed
And details of an extended deadline!
RTÉ radio has announced the names of the 17 music industry professionals who’ll be judging this year’s RAAP/RTÉ Radio Breakthrough Bursary Awards.
The four categories and the experts sifting through the entries are:
Pop, Rock & Dance – Horslips’ Jim Lockhart, Hothouse Flowers’ Fiachna Ó Braonáin and 2fm’s Jenny Greene, Jenny Huston and Rick O’Shea.
Country, Roots & Folk – RTÉ presenters John Kelly, Ronan Collins and John Creedon, bluegrass musician Niall Toner and music publicist Emma Harney.
Classical – RTÉ Lyric FM’s Liz Nolan, Evelyn Grant, Celia Donoghue and Gail Henry and musician Wendy Vard.
Traditional Irish – jazz musician Richie Buckley and Altan’s Ciaran Tourish.
Along with a share of the €20,000 bursary pot, winning artists are guaranteed airplay across all of RTÉ radio.
