Roisin Murphy injured, will still play Irish dates
Our own Roisin Murphy suffered a nasty eye injury over the weekend, but hopes to play her up-coming scheduled Irish dates.
Poor Roisin Murphy has had to cancel a host of European tour dates after injuring her eye on stage at a weekend gig in Moscow's Ikra Club.
She was playing a track off her new album Overpowered when she hit her head off a chair and damaged her eye socket. She was rushed to a local hospital and later flown back to the UK for surgery. She suffered blood loss and a serious concussion, but amazingly her eyesight is fine.
The singer is said to be recovering well and hopes to be fighting fit for the UK and Ireland leg of her European tour, which starts at the end of this month.
The Arklow native plays Belfast's Spring and Airbrake on December on December 5 and The Village, Dublin on December 8.
If you're braver than us you can witness Roisin's run in with that nasty chair on YouTube... but you probably shouldn't.
Ouch.
We feel your pain Roisin, get well soon!
