Rod Stewart announces he will no longer do “large-scale world tours”
The British rock and pop singer-songwriter shared the news via a post on X.
Sir Rod Stewart has announced that he will no longer go on “large-scale world tours”, however, he has also stated that he has no desire to retire.
The post stated: “I love what I do, and I do what I love”.
Stewart added: “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79. I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next— smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not…”.
Among the best-selling music artists of all time, Stewart began his music career in 1962 when he took up busking with a harmonica. He has played with the Dimensions, Long John Baldry, the All Stars, the Jeff Beck Group, as well as Faces.
Stewart has enjoyed a long and successful solo career, most recently playing in Ireland in May of this year at Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
