Robyn G Shiels wins Northern Ireland Music Prize
The Blood Of The Innocents has been named Album Of The Year.
Saturday saw Kilrea songwriter Robyn G Shiels scoop the Northern Ireland Music Prize at a ceremony in Mandela Hall, Belfast. The Blood Of The Innocents became the second album to be honoured, following inaugural winner Joy Of Nothing by Foy Vance last year.
Seminal Larne metallers Therapy? were also celebrated on the night, picking up a 'Oh Yeah Legends 2014' gong as they performed their 1994 album Troublegum in full.
The Blood Of The Innocents was completed six years ago and released in July, with Hot Press' Edwin McFee saying of it: "Inspired by spirits in all senses of the word, the record is a bruised, at times bleak and regularly beautiful effort."
