Riverdance announces tour for 30th anniversary

Riverdance, known for its distinctive blend of Irish and international dance and music, is preparing for a global tour to mark its 30th anniversary. Originating as a captivating performance during the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, Riverdance has since become a cultural phenomenon, captivating audiences worldwide with its iconic choreography and music.

Director John McColgan reflects on the show's evolution over the past three decades, emphasizing its transition from a spectacle to a cultural symbol. Despite its global appeal, Riverdance remains rooted in its Irish heritage, a point underscored by McColgan as the tour approaches.

This tour marks a significant milestone for Riverdance, as it welcomes a new generation of performers for the first time in its history. Principal dancer Fergus Fitzpatrick expresses anticipation for the tour, highlighting the excitement among the creative team.

Behind the scenes, composer Bill Whelan is composing the music for the upcoming shows, while production is overseen by Moya Doherty, ensuring a seamless blend of innovation and tradition.

The world tour, scheduled for 2025, will see Riverdance travel across continents, enchanting audiences with its performances. Initial dates have been announced for the US and Canada, with tickets for the UK leg set to go on sale on March 22 at 10 am.

Riverdance will also be performing 2 events in Dublin between Wednesday 5th June 2024 and Sunday 8th September 2024 at the Gaiety Theatre. Tickets for those shows are available here
