Placebo announce Dublin show
The alt-rockers will play their first two albums at 3Arena as a part of their 30th Anniversary Tour. They'll release a reworked version of their debut album this summer.
Placebo have announced a Dublin show as a part of their upcoming 30th Anniversary Tour. They'll play 3Arena on Wednesday, December 2, 2026.
Along with their tour announcement, Placebo have announced a reworked version of their first album, titled Placebo RE:CREATED, out Friday, June 19 via Elevator Lady LTD through AWAL.
Placebo RE:CREATED will feature ten tracks from the original album, plus two bonus tracks.
“We think of this record as a director’s cut," Placebo wrote in a press release. "We haven’t recreated it from scratch. We went back to the original master tapes and brought 30 years of playing these songs live back into the record."
"When we made the first album, we didn’t yet have the experience or the studio knowledge to fully translate what was in our heads. Over the years, the songs took on a life of their own on stage; they grew, they developed, they kind of completed themselves."
"It’s a celebration of where we began, and a meeting point between who we were then and who we are now. It’s a way of honouring that innocence, while letting the songs exist with the scale, confidence, and energy of the band we’ve become.”
On their 36-show 30th Anniversary Tour across Europe and the UK, they'll be playing songs from their first two albums, Placebo and Without You I'm Nothing.
Placebo was formed in 1994 by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal. They originally released Placebo in 1996, which cemented them in the alt-rock scene. Their early hits 'Nancy Boy' and '36 Degrees' were considered subversive for their pushing of genre bounds and lyrical norms.
Tickets for Placebo's 3Arena show go on sale Friday, March 27, at 9am. You can pre-order the album to gain presale access.
