"It's the only film I've watched about Northern Ireland that rings true"...
We caught up with Lisburn actor Richard Dormer recently to chat about his current starring role - as Belfast legend Terri Hooley in Good Vibrations.
The film, co-written by HP's Colin Carberry, tells the story of Hooley, who opened a record store in his hometown during the height of the Troubles.
"Good Vibrations is the only film I've ever watched about Northern Ireland that rings 100% true", Dormer tells Stuart Clark. "It's like a great song - when you've the right musicians in the right mood and the right environment, something magic happens."
Dormer is a busy bee right now, he's got new play, Drum Belly, set to open in the Abbey on April 10, and also recently landed the role of Lord Beric Dondarrion in epic fantasy series Game Of Thrones.

"My agent handed me the script", he recalls. "I was seen for the original castings, the auditions went well but I didn't get it... Then this role came along, and I just got what this guy Beric Dondarrion is about. I sat up all night learing the script and working on the character, went in the next day and nailed it."
