pôt-pot announce debut album Warsaw 480km and share single 'WRSW'
pôt-pot's experimental debut record is inspired by 1960s psychedelic rock
Irish-Portuguese quintet pôt-pot have announced the release of their debut album, Warsaw 480km, sharing a first glimpse at the record with the lead single 'WRSW', out today.
Their first LP will be released on September 19, via record label Felte. The Cork and Lisbon-based band took to Instagram to share the news:
"We release our debut album Warsaw 480 km on Sept 19, digital AND on CHERRY RED vinyl preorders available now. VAMOS. Huge, huge thank you to Felte for believing in us and for all of you for being on this ride since the early days with us," reads their post.

Lead vocalist Mark Waldron-Hyden from Cork initially created pôt-pot as a solo project before moving to Lisbon for an artist residency. While in Portugal, he met and recruited bassist Joe Armitage and guitarist Michael Oliver Smith.
From there, the psych-rock band kept growing, taking on Elaine Malone on harmonium and backing vocals, as well as bass player and vocalist Sara Leslie.
Waldron-Hyden said the record is defined by emotional hardship and atmospheric topographies. “I wrote the first batch of songs while not really living in one place, so I think they have a kind of transient feel to them."
"Developing them with the band helped me process an era in which I was emotionally freewheeling, so they remind me equally of the beautiful experience we shared as a creative unit and the difficult times that inspired them,” he explained.
The lead single 'WRSW', out today, is a rhythmic track, combining tremolo guitars and a woozy harmonium with impressionistic lyrics.
