Hot Press Magazine and The Campaign for the Prevention of Smoking among Adolescents In the European Union bring the citizens of Dublin a one off, special gig to Meeting House Square at 6.00 pm SHARP this Friday 26th September featuring: THE REVS [right by Kip Carroll], BLINK & JUNO FALLS [get there early to avoid disappointment!]
The gig is part of the EU TRUCKSTOP TOUR which has traveled all over Europe - with local bands and musicians getting together to celebrate and promote the FEEL FREE TO SAY NO campaign. Dublin has been chosen to host the final of these unique concerts as a celebration of Irish Music and its position within the European Union.
Hot Press Editor, Niall Stokes comments in support of the No Smoking campaign and the Truck Tour gig:
"Hot Press has always been pro-choice, believing that it is vital that, to the greatest extent possible, people should be free to take responsibility for their own actions. In the context of smoking, and especially where young people are concerned, that involves the freedom - and the resolve - to resist peer pressure and to say no to what is a dangerous, unpleasant and addictive drug.

"What I like about the Feel Free To Say No campaign is that about empowering people to make what is manifestly the right choice in relation to cigarettes. It is a positive campaign, rather than a prohibitionist one - and Hot Press supports it wholeheartedly. Which is why music is such an appropriate medium with which to get the message across. Hot Press is proud to be associated with the Feel Free To Say No gig, and with the array of Irish talent that has come together to play in support of the campaign at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, with The Revs - who are one of the brightest outfits to emerge here over the past few years - toping the bill."
Be sure to catch some of the most exciting young bands in this one-off street party. Celebrate the end of summer in style with Hot Press, at Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, Friday 26th September from 6:00 pm SHARP
