Red Hot Chili Peppers to release new album in August
The Californian foursome will release their new studio album I'm With You on Friday August 26 on Warner Records.
This will be their most recent offering since the release of the double-whammy
According to reports the first single off the album is called 'The Adventures of Raindance Maggie', and will be released on July 18.
Recorded at East West In Los Angeles and Shangri-la in Malibu, California, I'm With You was produced by Rick Rubin, who has produced the band's previous five albums.
It was mixed by Andrew Scheps and Greg Fidelman.
Speaking in 2009 about the work involved to follow up Stadium Arcadium, drummer Chad Smith said, "We're gonna write for a while, it usually takes us a while.”
When asked would the record have an electronic feel Smith denied it, but also said "You never know. We've got songs with piano on them right now, so who knows."
To support Stadium Arcadium the Chili Peppers played to millions of fans around the world throughout 2007, including sold-out arena tours of Europe and North America, appearances at the Fuji Festival in Japan and Live Earth in London, and headlining slots at Lollapalooza in Chicago, and the Leeds and Reading Festivals in the U.K.
Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer are set to headline a number of festivals in Japan and South America this Autumn.
