Release News, Instore appearances and participating Irish stores
Record Store Day is but 11 days away now so what better way to get you all in a further state of excitable fervour than with a few updated tidbits!
- Contrary to what some may have said, we can confirm that the Radiohead 12" which will include two new songs, 'The Butcher' and 'Supercollider' will be available in Ireland in participating stores on April 16.
- Tower Records, Dublin have announced their line-up for the day and it's no exaggeration to say it's positively world-class. Lykke Li, former Beta Band-vocalist Steve Mason, US folk act A Hawk and a Hacksaw will all pop in to play short sets as well as exciting perfromances from Irish bands such as Enemies, The Answer, Kanyu Tree and Squarehead. The running order for the day is yet to be announced so watch this space.....
-The View have recorded the official Record Store Day anthem and it's a cover of The Tweeds 80's powerpop classic 'I Want That Record'. It'll be available on limited edition 7" vinyl.
I Need That Record by The View
-Villagers will release a vinyl-only live album recorded in the Workman's Club last September, limited to 500 copies and available from all participating stores, while Japanese Popstars will also get in on the action, releasing a 12" vinyl called The Remixes, featuring remixes including Depeche Mode and Kylie.

-Frank Ferdinand have compiled possibly one of the most impressive releases this year, an EP of covers from their Tonight album, called- you guessed it- Covers EP which will feature versions of those songs performed by Debbie Harry, Peaches, LCD Soundsystem and Stephen Merrit.
