Reborn in the USA
Bob Geldof goes down a storm in New York
Bob Geldof past his musical sell-by date? Not according to Rolling Stone who had this to say about his September 21 show in New York: "The former Boomtown Rats singer played one of this year's greatest concerts to a theater full of empty seats. But the turnout – and loud affection of those who came – brought out the fighting soul in Geldof. He powered his way through two hours of top song, straight talk and sharp laughs like a man who knew his true worth."
The American magazine was also privy to Geldof's backstage tete a tete with Chrissie Hynde, which resulted in him being asked to open for The Pretenders on their upcoming U.S. tour.
