Put your money where your mouth is
2002's rock 'n' roll rich list revealed
Enya netted a not entirely shabby $10.1 million last year, which breaks down as $4.9m for recording and $5.2m for publishing.
Although likely to keep her bank manager happy, it's only worth a number 30 placing in Rolling Stone's 2003 Rock Rich List.
Top of the ching ching chart is Paul McCartney ($72.1m) followed by The Rolling Stones ($64.9m), Dave Matthews Band ($31.3m), Celine Dion ($31.1m), Eminem ($28.9m), Cher ($26.7m), Bruce Springsteen ($24.8m) and Mariah Carey ($23.8m).
In most cases the bulk of the money is derived from touring, although Elvis at no. 11 with $20.5m and Led Zeppelin and Nirvana at joint no. 24 with $12.4m underline the benefit of dead or defunct.
Surprisingly there's no place in the list for U2 who'll doubtless by giving Marks & Spencers a miss this year and doing their shopping in Dunne's.
