Dublin artist Paul Quin has a brand new video for his soon to be released single 'Everything I Loved I Lost (That Day)' that Hot Press is proud to premiere.
On his third single of the year, in preparation for his upcoming album Life On Earth, Paul discusses the loss of a family member and the turmoil that can follow.
"This is a story about the loss of a parent, in particular a Father," a press release from Paul explains.
"The sudden wrenching that brings on a tidal wave of grief regardless of age or situation and the emptiness that follows. It is also a looking back at a time of great childish innocence and the need and the joy of the security that a great Father provides.
'Everything I Loved I Lost's main theme, though, is the shared love of music passed from Father to Son."
Name-checking the likes of ABBA, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Paul wears his influences on his sleeve with excellent effect. Although the impact of these artists is clear, folk-esque storytelling is also evident.
'Everything I Loved I lost (That Day)' from Paul Quin will be released tomorrow on all streaming platforms.
