PREMIERE: Cypress Mine! share video for new single 'SPELLBINDING"
'SPELLBINDING' is the Cork alt-rock band's first release in over 35 years.
Cypress Mine! have unveiled a music video for their newest single 'SPELLBINDING'.
The Cork band have built up a cult following since their inception in 1984, opening up for notorious bands such as U2 and Echo And The Bunnymen, before originally disbanding in 1989. During their initial run, the band released several singles, as well as their sole album Exit Trashtown .
The band reconnected in 2017, and released 'SPELLBINDING' earlier this month. The reunion treats fans with a familiar sound, showcasing classic and emotive 80s alternative vocals that fueled New Wave.
Beyond the reunion, the track itself exudes optimism. The instrumentals are uplifting and the guitar riffs that feel like day spent in the sun, emphasising by the overall cheerful tone of the song. Lyrically, 'SPELLBINDING' radiates the positive energy felt when taking the time to appreciate the little things in life.
The accompanying music video offers a suitably nostalgic glimpse into memories of daily life, creating beauty out of the mundane.
The band is set to perform shows at Mike The Pies in Listowel on January 30, 2026, Levis Corner House in Ballydehob on January 31, 2026, Crane Lane in Cork on February 14, 2026 and Bello Bar in Dublin on March 21, 2026.
Cypress, Mine! have said fans can expect more music within the coming months.
