Watch: Glimmermen release lead single and music video off their upcoming album
The rock 'n' roll five piece are back with the lead single off their upcoming third album, Here I Stand.
Glimmermen have dropped the lead single off their upcoming album, Here I Stand along with a brand new music video. Titled 'It's Nice', the video follows the band across the country as they steadily climb to No. 1, only to be accused of rigging the charts.
'It's Nice' will be on Here I Stand, Glimmerman's third LP, set for release on 9 November on vinyl only. It will include 11 songs delivered in the classic inimitable style fans have come to love. The album explores themes of love and loss as the lads confront their admiration and repulsion for the world. As alluded to in the cover art, the stand taken is not necessarily on solid ground, as many things are at play and in flux. According to a statement from the band, they intend to explore life's many dysfunctional communication platforms and the struggle to make sense of things within and without.
The album was recorded in the Meadow in Co Wicklow early this year and expands further the musical landscape created in 2016's Breakin' Out.
The primitive rock 'n' roll band is comprised of Gav Cowley on guitar and vocals, J. Bassetti on bass, Phil Murray on drums, Dave Prendergast on trumpet, and Orlaith Gilcreest on the sax and vocals. They released their debut EP Satellite People in 2012 with comparisons to Television, Pop Group and Mission of Burma. Shortly thereafter, Glimmermen followed up with their J.Robbins-recorded debut I’m Dead in 2013. They then returned with their second well-received album, Breakin’ Out, on June 17th. ‘
Glimmermen are hosting an album launch party at Bello Bar in Dublin next Thursday, 7 November with tickets available at the door for €8 or €15 with the Vinyl LP. Supports will be The Middle Ages and Panik Attaks.
