If it was ever in doubt that Pink Floyd's fanbase remains both loyal and massive 20 years after their last studio album proper, today brings confirmation that they are still adored.
Their new – and, apparently, last – album Endless River, based on sessions from '94's The Division Bell, hits the summit of the Irish Albums Chart at the first time of asking.
Ed Sheeran's X is at No. 2, moving up a spot from last week. It pushes Taylor Swift's well-received 1989 down a spot, whilst Hozier's self-titled debut stays static at No. 4.
Foo Fighters see their Sonic Highways enter the chart at No. 5, whilst last week's biggest selling album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy by Damien Rice, drops down to No. 8. Cheryl Cole and her Only Human enters just below, at No. 9.
