Pillow Queens to Play Biggest Headline Show Yet
Dublin queens to bring their attitude, grace and infectious tunes to The Workmans Club this year.
Pillow Queens don’t waste time. Since forming and releasing their first EP Calm Girls in 2016, they followed by touring the U.K. in 2017. Now the Dublin-based band are now bringing their success home and headlining their biggest show to date at The Workman’s Club in Dublin, 21st of April 2018.
With their “sharp hooks and sharp nails” as dubbed by Steve Lamacq of BBC 6 music radio, the four-strong group focus lyrics on inner workings of the mind to create music with a message to be heard. Self-doubt, despair, distrust, the exasperation of encountering toxic masculinity in society that feeds into the track ‘Wonderboys’. In addition, the title for their upcoming EP State of the State set for release on the 9th March, further provides a strong indication of what makes Pillow Queens tick. But they boil it all down into catchy melodies, raw vocals tinged with heavy Irish accents and a very solid listen.
Tickets are available from Thursday, the 8th of February, at €15 from www.ticketmaster.ie and other national ticket outlets
