Paul McCartney performs 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' for the first time in 60 years at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot at a photography-embargoed ceremony in Maddison Square Garden on Saturday.
Paul McCartney reportedly performed ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ for the first time in 60 years, as details from Taylor Swift’s wedding begin to emerge.
The Beatle performed the hit to a celebrity reception of over 1,000, as Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce tied the knot in Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
Stevie Nicks, Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez were among the star-studded guest list at the high-profile reception. Nicks is also reported to have performed, while Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McCrae are said to have hit the mic at a karaoke station.
Pictures from the wedding reception have not been released as the couple enforced tight security measures to keep their ceremony private. They intentionally chose the windowless arena to prevent paparazzi, while all guests had their phones confiscated to prevent photography.
Even with the strict measures, some details of the ceremony have been revealed. Jonathan Anderson, the Northern Irish creative director of Dior, designed Taylor Swift's wedding looks and the groom's white tuxedo. While Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Gracie Abrams were among the guests who revealed their outfits on social media.

Ashley Smith, the sister of Kansas City Chiefs star Trey Smith, revealed that she caught Taylor’s bouquet. She made the announcement on Instagram, saying she “somehow” ended up with the bouquet and joked that she’s now manifesting a “lifetime of love, luck and laughter”, while also congratulating the newlyweds.
Adam Sandler officiated the service. The actor and comedian grew close to the couple, as his daughters are big fans of Swift, and he befriended Kelce after casting him in a cameo in the 2025 film Happy Gilmore 2.
Dispensing with tradition, the singer did not have bridesmaids and Kelce did not have groomsmen. Swift's brother, Austin, was her “man of honor,” and Kelce's brother, Jason, served as his best man.
AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron posted, then deleted, some details of the ceremony on X. He said the event featured the look of a “lush countryside retreat” and had artificial trees that “welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs,” noting that the wedding “felt intimate and small.”
While the release of official photos is expected, no date has been set. A few pictures of venue decorations and departing guests have surfaced, but any online photos claiming to show the bride, groom, or the wedding dress have been flagged as AI-generated.
