Patti Smith has announced two Irish shows set for next summer, with gigs at Limerick's King John’s Castle on Tuesday, July 14 and the Galway International Arts Festival on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The Limerick date will mark the singer's debut appearance in the city.
In October, Smith performed at Dublin's 3Arena as part her tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of debut studio album Horses.
Widely regarded as one of the most revolutionary rock albums of all time, her 1975 record was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2021 and received the Charles Cros award.
The Chicago born artist was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 and has released a number of acclaimed albums, including Radio Ethiopia, Easter— which features 'Because the Night' co-written with Bruce Springsteen—Dream of Life, Gone Again, Gung Ho, Banga and more.
Outside from music, Smith's highly regarded memoir Just Kids received the National Book Award in 2010. It gained popularity for its honest coming of age tale of youth and friendship in the 1970s. Her latest book, Bread of Angels: A Memoir was published last month.
Tickets for Smith's Irish gigs go on sale Friday, December 12. Limerick tickets can be found here and Galway tickets can be found here.
