Patrick Stefan releases new video for his latest single 'Don't Be Afraid'
After the release of his debut album in 2022, Patrick Stefan has continued to charm fans with each release. His latest single 'Don't Be Afraid' is no different – watch the new video below.
Irish/Dutch singer, Patrick Stefan, shares a new live solo looping video for his most recent reach, 'Don't Be Afraid'.
The song is an upbeat message penned to his younger self. Stefan set out to remind listeners to drop the mask of our adult personas even as life hardens us to put up barriers.
Speaking on the release, Patrick says: “It’s about unlearning the restrictions that adulting puts on you. Remembering to forget yourself. Do you ever think back to an earlier time and say to yourself ‘Wow I was so much more ___ back then’? Maybe it’s rose-tinted nostalgia. But maybe it’s not and we’ve slowly allowed to inhibit ourselves out of fear of judgement or weariness. A famous Bob Dylan line says ‘Oh but I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now’. I think this is my way of expressing that.”
In 2022 Patrick Stefan released his debut album Wayfare, a modern-folk document of Patrick's unique & colourful travels from Scandinavia, Brazil, to West Africa and back home.
'Don't be Afraid' was released as a double single, accompanied by 'Fruitfly'. The latter is a poignant metaphor for a doomed relationship, delivered with a twist of bluesy Americana.
