Panti Bliss to deliver Queen's speech on TV3
Ireland's First Lady will deliver Christmas Day message, as TV3 unveils its festive offerings
To finish a monumental year for the nation, Panti Bliss will deliver the Queen's Speech on TV3 this Christmas day.
The Queen of Ireland will look back on the 12 months that have passed, and look to the future in, in what is the centrepiece of TV3's festive offerings which were unveiled today.
Other highlights include a dramatic turn in Red Rock, where one of the main characters will meet a shocking demise. The drama has been one of the station's major success stories in 2015, and Red Rock: The Story So Far will look back on the rise of what's now established as one of Irish telly's big hitters.
The Great Irish Bake Off Christmas Special will see George McMahon and Leanne Moore square off against Lucy Kennedy and Martin King for the ultimate seasonal Panto versus Presenter bake off challenge, while Ivan's Celebrity Pub Crawl will follow the titular Mr Yates as he reviews the year with celebrity guests in four different Dublin hostelries (yeah, we're quite looking forward to seeing how No. 4 goes too...)
The massive Vicar Street shindig in memory of Tony Fenton will be aired in A Tribute to Tony Fenton - All the Young Dudes, while there's more musical goodies in the form of Tommy Fleming: Voice of Hope - A 10 Year Celebration and Daniel O’Donnell: 40 Years of Music & Memories.
