Music Production for Women and DistroKid announce free music production workshop aimed to empower women in music
In 2024, only 5.9% of producing credits were held by women in the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Charts.
Music Production for Women (MPW) and DistroKid have announced the EmpowHer Sound Europe Tour, a free music production workshop to "empower female and non-gender conforming musicians."
The 3-hour beginner-friendly workshop takes place in Dublin on July 10 at Trinity College Dublin.
The workshop is "designed to be a beginner-friendly session to encourage more women and gender minorities who have been interested in producing but not known where to start, to take their first steps," according to MPW founder, Xylo Aria. People of all genders are welcome to attend.
The workshop covers Beatmaking, Audio Effects and Synthesis. Participants will learn "the skills necessary to create high-quality music so that you can start releasing the music of your dreams and take on the music industry with confidence".
As well as Dublin, there will be workshops held in London, Amsterdam and Berlin.
Tickets to these events are free until venues are full.
Those interested can register at: Music Production for Women.
