Pale Waves announce tour with headline show at the Academy in Dublin
The tour also includes dates in Belfast and Cork
Following the release of their fourth album Smitten, indie-pop band Pale Waves have announced a UK and Ireland tour which includes shows in Dublin (June 28), Belfast (June 29) and Cork (June 30).
Led by singer and guitarist Heather Baron-Gracie, the Manchester four-piece act comprises of drummer Ciara Doran, guitarist Hugo Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood.
The record, released last year, sees the band shift from their previous pop-punk energy to a jangly alt-pop sound filled with coming-of-age reflections.
"I was reading a lot of sapphic poetry and queer films and just being ultra queer," said Baron-Gracie, "That unlocked a lot of my past experiences with women… that I’ve been in love with."
Tracks like 'Perfume' and 'Gravity' explore obsession, heartbreak and identity with inventive lyricism and instrumentation.
On 'Miss America', Heather turns inward, examining her own transformation. "Not drinking has helped me become a better person," she says. "I’m able to see things a lot clearer."
