A green wave of over 30,000 Irish fans are expected in Poznan for Ireland's double UEFA clash in the Polish City.
To coincide with the onslaught of fans, two massive parties will be held on the banks of Lake Malta, featuring a craic team of Irish acts.
Kicking off right after Ireland v Crotia will be Mundy. Whether or not you’re a Galway Girl, this stalwart of the Irish music scene is expecting no own goals. He and his band will be playing all the songs you know, and some you don’t. Organiser Ray O'Donoghue says, "Win, lose or draw there'll be a party in Poznan that night. It's only five minutes from the centre of Poznan.” Not far to stagger, then.
On June 18, Poznan gets her first salty taste of Limerick ambassadors, The Rubberbandits. ‘Horse Outside’ has over ten million hits to date, and their debut album Serious about Men reached the top of the Irish charts. In their own words, "We write songs about horses, greyhounds, the IRA, glue and kissing Ice Cube on the mouth. We've also sold-out shows from London to New York to Monaghan".
Whether you’re drowning your sorrows or tasting sweet victory, Lake Malta Funzone doors are at 11pm. It’ll be open ‘til five in the morning. With a full bar and any number of Polish women who have not yet heard your favourite chat-up lines, there will be plenty to keep you entertained. The shows are strictly limited to 900 tickets. Get them in advance from [link]www.tickets.ie[/link] for just €10.
