Olaf Tyaransen reading this Saturday
The Hot Press scribe will appear at The Forge At Gort literary festival this weekend
Hot Press' Olaf Tyaransen will appear at The Forge At Gort literary festival this weekend, reading with poet Clare Satwell (who’ll be accompanied by harpist Brenda Molloy) at Sullivan’s Hotel at 8pm on Saturday March 26.
The literary festival, organised by the Western Writers’ Centre, takes place on Friday March 25 and Saturday 26 in the south Galway town.
Other writers taking part in the festival include John W. Sexton, The Poetry Chicks, Miceál Kearney, Noel Monahan and Matt Mooney. Margaretta D’Arcy and John Arden will host the Tea With George Moore event, a convivial ‘chat-over-tea with George Moore’ who, 100 years ago this year, published Ave, the first volume of his three-part autobiography.
Renowned photographer Joe Geoghegan will exhibit elements of his famous exhibition of photos-and-poems from the eyes of Irish writers, In The Eye of the Beholder. Dublin artist Tom Byrne’s painting of Lady Augusta Gregory will be offered for sale by auction to raise funds for the festival.
