Nicola Coughlan to appear at major London benefit gig supporting trans community
The event has been described by organisers as "A Night Of Solidarity For A Lifetime of Change".
Nicola Coughlan is set to appear at the Trans Mission charity gig at the OVO Arena Wembley on March 11, 2026.
Wolf Alice, Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Adam Lambert and many others will perform at the benefit concert, raising funds for the trans community and as "a statement that trans people are loved, valued, and celebrated, and that the entertainment industry stands proudly with them.”
Coughlan has shown support to the transgender community in the past, previously raising over £100,000 (€114,171) for the UK trans charity Not A Phase, following he UK's Supreme Court ruling on the legal definition of a woman. The Galway actress also signed an open letter condemning the ruling.
"The Supreme Court's ruling that, under the Equality Act, 'woman' is defined by biological sex, states that 'the concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man'," the letter read. "We believe the ruling undermines the lived reality and threatens the safety of trans, non-binary and intersex people living in the UK."
Coughlan, known for her roles in shows like Derry Girls and Bridgerton, has also been very outspoken on the genocide in Gaza and appeared at events such as the Together For Palestine charity concert this past September.
Actors Sir Ian McKellen and Russell Tovey, as well as musician Jordan Stephens and model/activist Munroe Bergdorf are also among those set to appear at the upcoming Trans Mission benefit concert.
Tickets go on sale next Tuesday, December 2 at 10am and are available here, along with the opportunity to donate.
