Nickel Creek's Sara Watkins to play Whelan's this November
The singer will be promoting her self-titled debut solo album.
Having spent nearly two decades - all of her teenage/young adult life - as one-third of the platinum selling progressive Bluegrass group Nickel Creek, Sara Watkins is by no means a newcomer to the music scene.
Produced by none other than Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and featuring an all-star cast of musicians from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench to Elvis Costello drummer Pete Thomas, the record shines with the virtuosic abilities of Watkins with her famous friends simply augmenting her brilliance, rather than stealing the show.
Watkins and her band will bring their own unique and particular folk flavourings to Whelan’s on November 18. Tickets are €17.50 on sale from Ticketmaster and the usual outlets nationwide.
