BICEP announced Audio-visual installation Takkuuk and accompanying soundtrack
More information about screenings is available below.
Belfast electronic duo BICEP have announced an audio-visual immersive installation Takkuuk, which focuses on the lives of Indigenous artists from the Arctic Region. The project is set to release internationally within the coming year and the soundtrack arrives July 25.
The installation was created in collaboration with the In Place of War charity, as part of their mission to tell the story of climate change through music. BICEP worked with a handful of Indigenous vocalists in order in create an authentic soundtrack, later paired this with visual elements.
Takkuuk presents a number of Indigenous musicians and and their communities and allows viewers to "witness the impact of their changing worlds, giving us an insight into their everyday lives and exploring not just the direct environmental consequences of a changing climate, but also the displacement of people and the marginalisation of their communities — resulting in the erosion of ancient cultures, languages, traditions and more," according to a statement.
"Through highlighting these individual stories, the project hopes to raise awareness of the existential issues facing Indigenous people across the Arctic region."
Takkuuk will be screened in Belfast at the Ulster Museum April-June, 2026 and will have additional screenings in Manchester at the Manchester Museum on November 22, 2025 and in London at the Blue Earth Summit on October 16, 2025 and at Ambika P3 on November 28-29, 2025.
The projects lead single "Taarsitillugu" is out now.
