Listen to four of the tracks here!
Limerick have known about them for quite a while, but now it’s the rest of the country’s turn to discover the delicately melodic delights of Nick Carswell & The Elective Orchestra whose debut album, The Word, gets a Good Friday digital release on [link]theelectiveorchestra.bandcamp.com[/link.
Physical copies will be available on May 20 to accompany a nationwide tour that takes them to The Odessa Hall, Dublin (April 21); Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick (May 20); Roundy Bar, Cork (24); DeBarra’s, Clonakilty (25); The Stables, Mullingar (26, unplugged); Crawdaddy, Dublin (28); and Kenny’s, Lahinch (31).
Carswell, who’s also a member of The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, assembled the collection on the site of an old monastery overlooking the River Blackwater in Youghal, County Cork.
Four of the tracks – ‘From The Ground Up’, ‘Running On Empty’, ‘When I’m No Around’ and ‘How The West Was On’ – are previewed below.
