Napalm Death announce Dublin show
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 am.
English metal band Napalm Death have announced a show at The Academy in Dublin on February 18, 2027 as part of their Campaign For Musical Destruction tour.
They will be joined by special guests Misery Index, Author & Punisher, Habak and Piece.
The Campaign for Musical Destruction is a metal crossover tour headlined by Napalm Death which has run for over 35 years to showcase extreme underground music.
Their last Irish appearance was in February of this year, also at The Academy.
Formed in May 1981 by Nic Bullen and Miles Ratledge, the group are known for being pioneers of the grindcore genre - a fusion of crust punk and death metal.
Napalm Death have seen several lineup changes over the years. Today, they feature vocalist Mark 'Barney' Greenway, bassist Shane Embury, guitarist Mitch Harris and drummer Danny Herera. John Cooke also regularly performs as a live guitarist.
Their debut album, Scum, was released in 1987 via Earache Records. That same year, they earned the Guinness World Record for the shortest recorded song ever, 'You Suffer', at 1.316 seconds long.
Later, they dropped From Enslavement to Obliteration in 1988, Harmony Corruption in 1990 and Apex Predator - Easy Meat in 2015.
Their most recent release is Savage Imperial Death March, a full collaborative studio album with American rock band Melvins. It was originally issued in a limited vinyl edition on February 16, 2025, followed by a wider expanded release on April 10.
In July, Napalm Death played a set at the NPR Tiny Desk Concert office space. They are also set to headline the 20th anniversary weekend of the Manchester Damnation Festival in November, alongside Corrosion of Conformity.
Tickets for their Dublin show go on sale Friday at 10 am here.
